In this episode Bella  shares her passion for the scientific method as a powerful tool for creative problem-solving and product innovation.  She candidly talks about the post-COVID workplace with changing employee attitudes and how to use “lean thinking”  to create people-driven innovation, even now.

Bella Englebach,  a trained scientist, is an Associate Partner at New & Improved, an experienced facilitator trained in continuous improvement, creative problem solving and lean product & process development. Bella spent 18 years at Johnson & Johnson, as a process excellence and business improvement leader. She hosts the podcast: “The Edges of Lean.”

QUOTE HIGHLIGHTS

BELLA: “...So we become compartmentalizing, not only in our fields, but how we think about ourselves, how we define ourselves with creativity.”

BELLA: "...that approach of I can't do the work unless I know exactly what the outcome is going to be. And I need the formula to arrive at the outcome... Is only good in school. As soon as you get out into the real world, you're going to be faced with problems where you may know the formula, but the formula doesn't take you all the way. And now you have to start to learn. "

BELLA: "So we have to get used to looking at things and asking questions... as opposed to just criticizing, you know?"
